24/7 mobile jump-start assistance

Car Jump Start Service at Your Location

A flat battery can stop your journey before it starts. Instant Road Rescue provides mobile jump-start assistance at your home, workplace, car park or roadside location across Gerrards Cross, Slough, Uxbridge and surrounding areas.

Call to confirm availability, your location and a quote. Arrival estimates depend on technician availability, traffic and access.

When to request a jump start

A slow-turning engine, clicking sound or dim dashboard lights can indicate a weak 12-volt battery. These symptoms can also have other causes, so tell us what happens when you try to start the vehicle. A jump start is not a guaranteed fix for every non-starting car.

  • Lights or accessories left on while parked.
  • A vehicle standing unused and losing battery charge.
  • A battery struggling to start the engine in cold weather.
  • A car that will not start at home, work or after a shopping trip.

What happens when we arrive?

Tell us your vehicle make and model, exact location and symptoms when you call. We confirm availability and an estimated arrival time before you proceed. On attendance, the technician checks the working location, looks for visible battery damage and assesses whether a jump start is appropriate for your vehicle. Suitable connection points and equipment must follow the manufacturer's guidance. If the engine starts, ask about battery and charging checks and the next steps before continuing your journey; a successful start does not prove the underlying fault has been fixed.

If your vehicle still will not start

A failed battery, charging fault, starter issue or another mechanical problem may need more than a boost. We explain the available next steps; battery replacement or recovery may be appropriate and may cost extra. Do not repeatedly try to start a vehicle that has unusual smoke, a burning smell or visible battery damage.

Home, workplace, car park and roadside call-outs

Our published coverage is within 25 miles of Gerrards Cross, including Slough and Uxbridge. At home, tell us about driveway access and room to reach the vehicle. At work, arrange permission and any security-gate access. For a car park, give the entrance, level, parking bay and any height restrictions. For roadside help, share a safe location marker. Arrival estimates depend on technician availability, traffic and access; call to confirm your exact location rather than relying on a guaranteed response time.

Jump-start prices and online payment

Jump starts are advertised from £60. Your quote depends on location, vehicle, time and the assistance required. Night, weekend, bank-holiday or access-related costs may apply. Online bookings require £50 upfront, deducted from the total service price. Any remaining balance is due when work is complete, paid to the technician, via an online payment link or by bank transfer. If we cannot attend or cannot start your car by jump-starting it, your £50 call-out payment is refunded in full. Cancellation before dispatch receives a full refund of the £50 payment; cancellation after dispatch does not. These policies do not affect your statutory rights. Call 07438 152086 to cancel or request a refund; refunds are handled by the business, not automatically by this website. Any battery replacement, parts or recovery must be separately agreed with you before proceeding.

Stay safe while waiting

If you are in immediate danger, call 999. On a motorway, follow current Highway Code guidance and use the emergency services or roadside assistance arrangements appropriate to your location. Do not stand in traffic or try to connect jump leads in an unsafe position. Tell us about a leaking, swollen, hot or visibly damaged battery before requesting a boost.

Questions and answers

Jump-start help FAQs

Can you come to my home or workplace?

Yes, you can request mobile attendance at home, work, a car park or a roadside location within our coverage. Call with your postcode and access details to confirm availability.

How quickly can you arrive?

We provide an estimate when you contact us. Timing depends on your location, traffic, access and technician availability; it is not a guaranteed arrival time.

Does a jump start mean I need a new battery?

Not necessarily. A battery may have been discharged by lights left on or a long period without use. A deteriorated battery or charging fault may need further checks or replacement.

Can you help a hybrid or electric vehicle?

Tell us the exact model first. Some vehicles can need assistance with a separate 12-volt system, but a jump start does not recharge an electric vehicle's traction battery. Assistance must follow the manufacturer's guidance.

Is £50 the full jump-start price?

No. The website requires £50 upfront for an online booking; jump starts are advertised from £60 and the final quote depends on the job. Confirm the total and payment conditions with us before proceeding.
